Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani voiced his country’s readiness to cooperate with China in producing a COVID-19 vaccine.

Iran PressIran News: "As the two countries have been fighting against the virus since its outbreak, Iran is ready to participate in producing the vaccine with China," Rouhani said in his message to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

He also added that the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, despite its problems, provided a ground for China to show its power supporting common human destiny.

While congratulating the government and people of the Republic of China on the anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China, President Rouhani said: "The comprehensive strategic partnership between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People's Republic of China has provided the grounds for the development of bilateral relations in various fields."

Rouhani expressed confidence that the agreement’s signing would be a significant step towards advancing common interests and international peace and stability and countering unilateralism.

Iran and China are laying the groundwork to sign a 25-year plan of cooperation.

Once signed and sealed, the deal will bring 400 billion dollars cash to Iran, $280bn for its energy sector, and $120bn for manufacturing and transport infrastructure.
