Minsk (IP) - The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belarus, Saeed Yari, met with the Minister of Energy of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich, on Tuesday to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and ways to develop and strengthen the cooperation.

Iran Press/Europe: Explaining the potentials of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, the Iranian ambassador stressed the need to implement the agreements reached at the 14th meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.

The Belarusian Minister of Energy, in turn, welcomed the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of electricity and gas industry, referring to the history of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and the activity of Bell Energo company in Iran.

Referring to the capacities of the Iranian company "MAPNA" and the history of its brilliant activities in different countries of the world, Saeed Yari said that the company is ready to implement projects related to the electricity industry in Belarus.

It was decided that the parties exchange their feasibility plans and projects for cooperation.

The Iranian ambassador welcomed the news of the launch of the first phase of the Belarusian nuclear power plant in the near future (November 7, 2020) and congratulated the Belarusian Minister of Energy on this success.
