East Azarbaijan (IP) - The historic village of Kandovan, along with the historic villages of Cappadocia in Turkey and the US Dakota, is one of the three rocky villages in the world and one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in East Azarbaijan province.

Iran Press/Iran News: Kandovan village has been registered as a valuable heritage in the list of national monuments of Iran and is world-famous. It is the only rocky village in the world where it is currently inhabited.

Kandovan village is located 60 km from Tabriz, the capital of East Azarbaijan Province, northwest of Iran, which dates back to 3000 years ago according to archaeologists.

Currently, about 120 families live in the historic village of Kandovan and intend to preserve their historic and old houses. Kandovan is located in the foothills of the Sahand Mountains and has a good climate and lush pastures.

Today, the tourism industry is one of the revenue-generating priorities for any country.

The amazing village of Kandovan is a good tourism capacity in East Azarbaijan Province.

The visit of more than 1.6 million people to the historic village of Kandovan last year (2019) shows the importance of this spectacular place for tourists.
