Chabahar (IP) - The 8th ship carrying Indian donated wheat to the Afghan people was docked in the Iranian port of Chabahar.

Iran PressIran news: Director-General of Ports and Maritime Department of Sistan-Baluchestan province, Behrouz Aqaei told on Saturday that the 8th ship carrying wheat donated by India to Afghanistan arrived in the Iranian port of Chabahar with 351 containers weighing approximately 8,095 tons.

"These containers are to transit to different provinces in Afghanistan via corridor leading to Milak border," the Director-General highlighted.

He added that after the unloading of this cargo, the weight of Indian transit wheat to Afghanistan, which was imported through Chabahar port, reached more than 61,000 tons.

Chabahar port in Sistan and Baluchestan province is the only Iranian ocean port located on the shores of the Makran Sea and the Indian Ocean.

The port is of particular importance due to its strategic location and the closest access to high seas by countries such as Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
