Iraqi President stresses on holding early election

The President of Iraq called the reforms in his country a necessity and stressed the need to hold early elections, saying that the elections should be held in an atmosphere of trust and away from manipulation and fraud.

Iran Press/Middle East: In a message addressed to the Iraqi people on the occasion of Ashura's eve on Saturday night, Barham Saleh said: "This issue requires technical and legal requirements so that the Iraqi people can trust its correctness."

He added: "Thus they could be able to exercise their legal right to determine the fate of the country and elect their representatives and the government away from any interference and fraud."

Saleh added: "Iraq is currently facing critical and serious developments because Iraqis are now looking to justice and the rule of law after long-term hardships and long deprivations."
