Tehran (IP) - An advanced device for detecting active oxygen in sputum to identify people with the coronavirus infection was unveiled at the Iranian Nanotechnology Development Headquarters.

Iran PressIran News: The production of the device was achieved with the efforts of Iranian scientists for 4 months and it has been published in the prestigious international journal Biosensors and Bioelectronics.

Also late last month, Iran Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) issued the production license of the device.

The prototype of the device was tested on more than 600 COVID-19 patients in Imam Khomeini, Loghman Hakim, Imam Hossein, and Noorafshar hospitals in Tehran, which had positive results.

 According to experts, the device can also be used to diagnose lung diseases such as asthma and tuberculosis, which can be very effective during the coronavirus pandemic.

The device detects corona disease by examining changes in the cases' sputum.
