Obama calls Trump an inappropriate option for the presidency

The former US president called the current president a "very inappropriate" option for the US presidency.

Iran Press/America: In a speech to members of the Democratic National Convention, held online on Wednesday evening, Barack Obama described Donald Trump as a "very inappropriate" option for occupying the White House presidency.

He said: "Voting for Democratic nominee Joe Biden is essential to ensuring the survival of democracy in the United States," he said.

Barack Obama also blamed Trump for the deaths of 170,000 Americans from coronavirus disease and said his administration's actions have caused millions of jobs to be lost and the country to experience a severe recession.

The former president added that Trump's actions undermined democratic principles at home and abroad.

With less than three months to go before the November the third election, Trump has achieved little to rely on, with nothing but failure, recession, unemployment, a deadly and out-of-control corona crisis, failed foreign policy, and racist rhetoric.

This has been well demonstrated in recent US opinion polls, and he is still lagging behind his Democratic rival.
