Tehran (IP) - Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology said that over 5,300 knowledge-based companies and startups are active in Iran for the last 5 years.

Iran Press/Iran News: Delivering a speech on the opening session of INOTEX (Innovation and Technology Exhibition), Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattati said that the approach of our universities has changed, the public culture has changed and depending on the oil, the economy is changing.

Sattari highlighted that more than 40 Technology Parks are active in the country.

Referring to the coronavirus situation which changed the form of the exhibition completely, the official said that virtual INOTEX is a new experience. Sattari expressed hope that this exhibition will have valuable achievements, meaning that it creates opportunities for exchanging experience and expanding technology both inside and outside the country.

Head of Science and Technology park Mahdi Saffarnia said that INOTEX is our today’s need in the field of transferring technology and we have also thought about export besides welcoming technology to our country.

Referring to the active role of startups in innovation and technology incidents, Saffarinia noted that startup companies have entered universities too.

More than 20,000 people in more than 60 cities have attended the innovation and technology incidents, he concluded.

The 9th INOTEX (Innovation and Technology Exhibition) which is held virtually this year due to coronavirus pandemic, kicked off today and lasts for four days (August 12 to 15).
