Yazd (IP) - Coppersmithing is one of the oldest and most important handicrafts in the city of Yazd in central Iran, which has a global reputation.

The historical city of Yazd has a diversity of various handicrafts, including coppersmithing. The prosperity and development of coppersmithing in this city is such that there is a market called 'coppersmithing market'.

This bazaar dates back to the 9th century AH (Islamic lunar calendar) and from the Timurid era. The activity of Yazdi coppersmiths has started from the ninth century AH.

Some important parts of the bazaar of Yazd are Zargari (Goldsmith), Panjeh Ali, Qeisariyeh, Kashigari (tile working), Chit Sazi (chintz making), Mesgari (coppersmith ).

The production of highly qualified and diverse copper goods has attracted the attention of many people and tourists.

Coppersmithing is one of the best ancient handicrafts in Iran. Handmade copper objects have long been on display in museums.

In addition to Yazd, coppersmithing is flourishing in the cities of Isfahan, Shiraz, and Kerman.
