Iran Press/Iran news: Ardeshir sa'd Mohammadi said in an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency that currently near 25 million tons of copper is being produced in the world, expressing hope that Iran's copper could gain a considerable share of the global market for copper through investment.
"This year's copper production will set a new record in Iranian history, with our production going beyond 260,000 tons," said the Director-General of NICICO.
Sa'd Mohammadi noted that Iran's copper is of the best quality in the world, expressing hope that the country could find its rightful place in national and global economy.
The third phase of operation of the Sungun Copper Complex was launched on August 11, 2019, with presence of Director-General of National Iranian Copper Industries Company.
The Sungun copper mine is located in Varzaqan county, East Azarbaijan province, 75 km northwest of the provincial town of Ahar, in northwestern Iran. 203/211/215
