Iranian Military Attaché to Iraq and Iraqi Interior Minister on Monday met and discussed various issues, including the travel of citizens and the expansion of relations between the two countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: During the meeting, Mostafa Moradian and Othman al-Ghanmi discussed the problems and obstacles in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. In this regard, they accelerated the increase of cross-border trade and the deepening of relations between the two countries.

Moradian attached importance to facilitating travel for the people of the two countries.

He also called for expanding ties.

For his part, the Iraqi Interior Minister said that Iraq is ready to expand relations with Iran and use experiences in areas of technology to fight organized crimes, drug trafficking, and terrorism.

He also said that the borders will be reopened by observing the healthcare protocols.

The Iraqi Interior Minister further noted: "Recently, serious measures have been taken by the Council of Ministers and the Iraqi Prime Minister to reopen the air and land borders in compliance with health protocols, the results of which will lead to acceleration and facilitation of traffic in the coming days as well as an increase in the volume of trade between Iran and Iraq."
