Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday received Libya's Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj.

Iran Press/Asia: The Turkish presidency said, in a brief statement, that the meeting took place in the Wahid al-Din Palace in Istanbul, without giving any details about the content of the talks.

Meanwhile, Erdogan spoke to Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte over the phone.

Turkey’s Communications Directorate said in a statement that Erdogan and Conte discussed regional developments, particularly in war-weary Libya, as well as cooperation in fighting Covid-19.

The leaders agreed to maintain dialogue for a political solution in Libya.

This comes at a time when Libya is witnessing an escalation of the internal conflict that has continued since 2011 amid increasing tension between the external parties involved in the Libyan crisis. 101
