IFRC Chief lauds opening of a financial channel for Iranian Red Crescent as very good news

Tehran (IP) - The President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) expressed his satisfaction over the opening of a financial channel for Iran's Red Crescent to receive International Humanitarian Contributions.

Iran PressIran News: Francesco Rocca, President of IFRC, in a twitter message, welcoming the resumption of cooperation with the Iranian Red Crescent Society, emphasized that the opening of the financial channel has provided assistance to vulnerable people.

Karim Hemmati, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, had previously announced that the US Treasury Department had opened a financial channel for the transfer of humanitarian aid to the Iranian Red Crescent by individuals or legal entities, provided that one of the parties was not American.

Hemmati added that In the framework of this decision, a part of the Red Crescent aid, which could not be transferred to Iran a few years ago, entered the country.
