Tehran (IP) - Iranian President's chief of Staff in a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev said the expansion of relations with neighbors, including the Republic of Azerbaijan, is one of the basic principles of Iran's foreign policy.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's presidential chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi "stressed that Iran is ready to increase, strengthen and consolidate comprehensive relations along with cooperation between Tehran and Baku.

Vaezi expressed regret over the death of several soldiers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the recent conflict on the border between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, he also expressed sympathy with the government and people of this country.

Iranian President's chief of staff said: "Preserving the territorial integrity of countries, including the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been and will be the regional strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Chief of Staff of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that Tehran always emphasizes the settlement of issues and disputes through political solutions and negotiations.

The problem between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan should be resolved without resorting to force, Vaezi reiterated.

In this telephone conversation, Shahin Mostafov also expressed his gratitude for the sympathy of the Iranian government and people in the incident and said: "Iran's stance on maintaining the territorial integrity of countries, including Azerbaijan, has always been respectable."

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan also praised Iran's efforts to develop relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and stressed the need for more efforts by the officials of the two countries in this regard.
