Iran Press - The widow of a French bus driver who was beaten to death after he asked four passengers to wear face masks aboard his vehicle has called for "exemplary punishment" for her husband's killers.

Iran Press/Europe: Five days after being viciously beaten when he confronted a group of passengers who were not complying with a rule that requires face masks on public transportation due to the coronavirus pandemic, Philippe Monguillot, 58 and a Franch bus driver died on Friday.
The passengers, who boarded without tickets at about 7:00 pm on Sunday in Bayonne in south-west France, dragged him off the bus and onto the platform, where he was kicked and beaten by the group before they fled, prosecutors said.

The man was left brain dead and his family and care providers decided it was best to take him off life support.

Two men, aged 22 and 23, have been charged with attempted murder, two others with non-assistance to a person in danger, and another with attempting to hide a suspect; President Emmanuel Macron dispatched Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin to meet the driver's wife on Saturday.

France has battled hard to tame its Coronavirus outbreak, which saw more than 208,000 confirmed infections and more than 30,000 virus-related deaths, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Experts say the true toll is higher, due to testing limitations and missed mild cases. 212/ 104
