Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin

Turkey welcomed the unification of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movements (Hamas) and Fatah to counter the Zionist regime's annexation of the West Bank plan.

Iran PressAsia: Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin condemned the occupation of the West Bank in a statement. Turkey fully supports the decision of the Palestinian political parties to unite against Israel's illegal plan.

Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of Hamas's political bureau, and Jibril al-Rajoub, secretary-general of the Fatah movement's central committee, held a joint news conference on Thursday via video conference.

Leaving aside the differences, they stressed the need for joint cooperation to counter the West Bank's annexation plan.

Kalin added that the Zionist regime's plan to annex the West Bank violates international law and has no legal basis.

Israeli officials recently agreed to implement plans to annex parts of the West Bank to the occupied territories in July. It is estimated that the project will cover more than 30 percent of the West Bank area.
