Iran Press/ Iran news: Tor Wennesland, the special coordinator of the United Nations in the West Asian peace process, on Saturday, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and discussed the latest situation in Palestine and how to help the people of Gaza.
In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, referring to his telephone conversations a few days ago with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said: "What the resistance groups did was the result of the extremism of Benjamin Netanyahu, the extremist Prime Minister of the Zionist regime; Even now, America advises everyone to exercise self-restraint, but it stands by the Zionist regime."
Amir-Abdollahian added: "If the United Nations wants to do something, it should immediately stop the Israeli regime's attacks, especially against citizens and civilians. Because tomorrow is late and time is limited, especially since the Zionist regime is now seeking to relocate the citizens of Gaza."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also said: "Another important issue is the sending of humanitarian aid, which should be done immediately and the International Red Cross should be activated in this regard, as well as the United Nations and the Red Cross should open a path for transporting the injured civilians."
Amir-Abdollahian added: "There are reports that the Zionist regime uses banned bombs against citizens, it is necessary for the United Nations to investigate and form a probe group in this regard."
The UN Secretary General's Special Representative for West Asian Affairs also expressed his concern about the ongoing developments in Gaza and pointed to his current efforts and recent meetings with the authorities of Lebanon and Egypt and some other parties to help stop the war and reduce casualties, especially on civilians.
He also expressed concern about the possibility of the war spilling over and the crisis in the region intensifying.
