Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi

Tehran (IP) - the Foreign Ministry Spokesman addressed some countries in the West Asian region, warning that the regional security would not be secured through obedience to the United States.

Iran PressIran News: Reacting to some baseless claims and the interventionist remarks made by some of the regional officials including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi highlighted on Tuesday that the countries like Saudi Arabia which have been fomenting instability in the region for years through supporting terrorist outfits like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, made unfounded allegations against Iran.

Calling Iran as a country whose responsible behavior has helped the regional stated get rid of the terrorist outfits in the region, Mousavi added that backing the US will to extend the arms embargo against Iran is a bitter irony the world is witnessing these days, because it has been raised by the countries which have killed thousands of people, including Yemeni women and children, with American weapons for more than five years.

Emphasizing on continuing regional cooperation as the only way to create stability and security in the region, Mousavi said: "The time has come for these countries to stop making irrational statements and blindly following the United States, which is itself a manifestation of oppression and injustice in the world and believing that security will not be achieved by obeying the United States."

Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahraini Minister for Foreign Affairs and Brian Hook, the US government's special envoy for Iran, called for a resumption of sanctions against Iran on Monday night in a joint statement. 207/216
