Iran Press/ Middle East: "Iraq will stand up to foreign conspiracies and will not allow any threat to its security," Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi told reporters today Thursday 25 June.
Strategic talks between Baghdad and Washington began on June 11 via video conference, and the two sides discussed a variety of issues, including the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
Mustafa al-Kazemi also announced clearing operations to secure the country's crossings border in the near future.
One of the top priorities for the new Iraqi prime minister, Mustafa al-Kazemi, is to pursue the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, which has become a public demand.
Iraqi lawmakers unanimously approved a bill on January 5, demanding the withdrawal of all foreign military forces led by the United States from the country following the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq's Hashd al-Sha’abi, and their companions in a US airstrike authorized by President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport two days earlier.
