Iran Press/ Iran news: According to Iran Press, Mohammad Mokhber Dezfuli, the first vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, entered Iraq today (on Saturday) in order to sign a contract for the construction of the Shalamcheh to Basra railway track, and met with Iraqi Prime Muhammad Shayaa al-Sudani, and then signed the contract for this project.
Shalamcheh-Basra railway track with a length of 32 km will be operated for a period of 2 years.
The railway connection between Iran and Iraq is a strategic event in the West Asia region.
If this connection extends to Syria, Lebanon, and the Mediterranean, it has the capacity to neutralize the American sanctions against the resistance front, and for this reason, this connection is one of the American red lines in West Asia and has repeatedly thrown stones on its way.
The establishment of the Shalamcheh to Basra railway is not specific to the political and governmental relations between Iran and Iraq, but this railway line track will be effective in accelerating the trade or export of Iran to Iraq and public transportation between the citizens of the two countries, especially in the traffic of Arbaeen pilgrims.
