Iran Press/ Middle East: On the formal invitation of his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, Iran's FM Hossain Amir-Abdollahian arrived on Thursday in Saudi Arabia.
The Kuwaiti FM Salem Abdullah Jaber al-Sabah said the trip showed the efforts of both sides regarding the return of bilateral relations, an agreement that would restore the relations to normal status.
Sheikh Salem said the visit showed the two countries' will to protect security and stability in the region, noting that the event will contribute to building trust, which in turn will be in line with the interests of the region and the world.
The Saudi FM stressed his country's determination to expand and strengthen ties with Iran and officially invited Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi to visit Riyadh.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Saudi Arabia at the head of a delegation in response to the official invitation of Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, met with his Saudi counterpart and the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.
During negotiations in Beijing, Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed on March 10, 2023, to restore diplomatic ties after seven years of pause.
