Iran Press/Middle East: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Ali Bagheri, left Tehran for Baghdad on Monday afternoon to hold talks with Iraqi high-ranking officials and attend the Fifth Iran-Iraq Joint Political Committee Meeting.
Bagheri met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shayya' Sabbar Al-Sudani, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid, head of the Iraqi Interior Ministry Qasim Mohammad Jalal al-Araji Hussaini, First Deputy Speaker Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, the former Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki, the Leader and Secretary-General of the Badr Organization Hadi Al-Amiri, and some Iraqi Sunni and Christian figures. The two sides talked about bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.
Iranian politician Ali Bagheri and his Iraqi counterpart Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloom on Wednesday agreed to set a strategic document between the two countries.
Mousa Tabatabaei, Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, pointed to the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs visit to Iraq and said that during the visit, Iranian and Iraqi sides talked about regional, security, and bilateral issues.
Regarding the results of Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri's visit to Baghdad, Mr.Tabatabaei told the Iran Press news agency that a joint committee was held between Iran and Iraq during the visit.
According to him, both sides talked about security and bilateral issues.
