Tehran (IP)- Head of Food and Medicine Administration (FDA) says Iran which is grappling with sanctions has not only met its own needs but also is exporting the medical equipment to other countries.

Iran PressIran news: In response to Iran Press question, Mohamad-Reza Shanesaz in a live presser on Friday stated that Iran which has been grappling with crippling sanctions even to supply masks under the world's silence has not only met its own needs but also now in a position to export. It's all due to people's cooperation in the mask production and some companies changed their production lines for mass production of masks, gowns, and other items necessary in combating corona.

"Mask production now reaches 2 million per day and enough stockpile will be exported", he said.

Shanesaz elsewhere highlighted that given the alcohol and sanitizers, their usage and applying are a must during the epidemic. In the first few weeks, people complained over the shortages because of the high demands but now there are no shortages in the pharmacies or shopping centers.

With the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade, Iran has increased the production of its medical products, which is undoubtedly much better and of higher quality compared to its imported products, and is approved by AEOI (Atomic Energy Organization of Iran), he added.
