Iran Press/ Iran News: The first day of Ordibehesht is marked in the Iranian calendar as the commemoration day of Abu-Muhammad Muslih al-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi also known as Saadi Shirazi, the famous Iranian poet and prose writer.
He is recognized for the quality of his writings and for the depth of his social and moral thoughts. Saadi is widely recognized as one of the greatest poets of the classical literary tradition, earning him the nickname 'Master of Speech; Saadi was born around 606 AH in Shiraz, the capital of Fars province, in southern Iran.
Saadi's best-known works are 'Bustan' and 'Gulistan'. Saadi was a master of lyric poetry and used the subtlest meanings in his poems in the simplest words.
Every year, on the day of Saadi's commemoration, ceremonies and celebrations are held at the tomb of this Iranian poet or Saadieh of Shiraz, but this year, due to the current situation and the spread of coronavirus, these ceremonies will not be held in Shiraz.
