Endangering people health for political purposes illegal, brutal

Tehran (IP) - More than 550 Iranian Physicians and the specialists who enjoy the membership of the Medical Council of Iran in a letter to UN Secretary-General objected against the continuation of US sanction policy orchestrated against the Iranian nation, saying endangering people's health for political purposes is not only illegal but also brutal.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian physicians and the specialists who enjoy the membership of the Medical Council of Iran in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote that the human and economic damage caused by the spread of corona disease in Iran concurrent with the highest level of sanctions, so endangering people's health for political purposes is not only illegal but also brutal.

The letter added: "Given the outbreak of coronavirus and its worrying consequences, the international community needs to stand up to sanctions that harm millions of Iranians."

In the letter, the doctors and specialists of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Medical System Organization called on the UN Secretary-General to use all his capacities and those of the international community to force the United States to lift all unilateral sanctions against Iran.

In recent weeks, following the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus in the world and in Iran, a large number of officials from various countries, including Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, and China, have called for the lifting of US unilateral and illegal sanctions against Iran.

Washington's unilateral and oppressive sanctions, which include basic and even medical items, have caused many problems for the Iranian people, especially those suffering from COVID-19.
