File Photo: Iran,Turkey discuss joint measures to fight against COVID-19

The Head of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa ?entop in the telephone conversation with Iran's Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani discussed the measures taken by the two sides to fight against Coronavirus.

Iran PressAsia: In the conversation, Mustafa ?entop expressed regret that Ali Larijani had contracted COVID-19 and wished health for him and for all Iranians.

Larijani and ?entop exchanged views about the joint efforts and measures to contain novel Coronavirus.

"I wished a speedy recovery to Mr. [Ali] Larijani. He told me that his health condition was good and his treatment was still ongoing," Mustafa Sentop said in a statement.

He expressed the hope that the two sides to successfully pass the crisis through collective efforts.

After certain symptoms emerged, Larijani underwent coronavirus testing and he tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently in quarantine receiving medical treatment.

COVID-19 was first detected in China's Wuhan in late December and has since spread across the world.

The COVID-19 global pandemic that has swept into at least 184 countries, has infected around 1,500,000 and killed nearly 90,000 people. More than 308,000 have recovered from the disease so far.
