Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman said on Wednesday that so far, 64,586 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus and 4,003 people have died due to the COVID-19 disease.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking at his daily press conference on Wednesday, April 8, on the latest data on the deadly coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the disease, Kianoush Jahanpour, Ministry of Health and Medical Education said: "1,997 new patients with COVID-19 have been identified during the past 24 hours."

"According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to April 8 in the country, the number of patients with this disease reached 64,586," he added.

"Fortunately, 29,812 patients have recovered and have been discharged so far," he said.

Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman said: "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 121 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and a total of 3,993 people have died in the country to date due to the disease."

The official also said that 3,956 patients are in critical condition.

Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman said so far 220,975 corona tests conducted.
