Tehran (IP)- Reza Rahmani, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, said, "With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, our colleagues have promised to increase the daily production of masks in the country to four million pieces after the mid-April."

Iran Press/Iran News: Reza Rahmani reminded, "Before the outbreak of Coronavirus, the production capacity of masks in the country was seventy thousand pieces and the amount of production was 300,000 pieces, but with the outbreak of Coronavirus, we conducted 3 shifts and 24/7 the production units."

Rahmani added, "The production of detergents has increased eightfold since February-March 2019-20 and the production of alcohol has increased twentyfold."

The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade stated, "The production of gloves has more than doubled. Before Corona, we used to produce two million, now we produce four and a half million."

Pointing to the importance of increasing detergent production to combat the spread of coronavirus, he said, "The capacity of detergent production units has also increased from fifty percent to ninety percent."

He said that all measures have been taken by the private sector to produce Corona-related goods, adding that Iran has so far imported about 20 million masks. The Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade stated that currently, Tehran Garment Union delivers 5,000 gowns to medical centers every day.

Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman announced that so far 19,736 patients from a total of 55,743 people who have been diagnosed with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19 disease), have recovered and discharged from hospitals across the country.

Worldwide, the total number of infections recorded since the beginning of the outbreak reached more than1,201,964. Some 246,638 people have recovered globally while nearly 64,727 have died.
