New ambassador reiterates Tehran\\\'s will to boost ties with Brasilia

Hossein Gharibi, Iran's new ambassador to Brazil, has submitted a copy of his credentials to Brazil's deputy foreign minister and during the session, two sides stressed more cooperation between Tehran and Brazilia.

Iran PressAmerica: At the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Otavio Brandley referred to the historic ties between the two countries and that Iran was the first country to establish its embassy in the new capital of Brazil in 1960, adding that there was much scope for further expansion of bilateral relations.

"There are two countries that need close cooperation, and Brazil is ready to do so," he added."Coronavirus outbreak has shown that there are always widespread problems in the world that require countries to work together to contain it," Brazilian deputy foreign minister highlighted.

Iran's new ambassador Hossein Gharibi also emphasized Tehran's determination to develop and expand relations with Brazil, noting Brazil's importance as Latin America's largest economy and one of the emerging economic powers in the BRICS group.

Referring to the right and common positions of Iran and Brazil on many international issues, Mr. Gharibi described the relations between the two nations as friendly and in favor of the two countries for more than a century and considering the high capacities of the two countries, promoting and diversifying them.

He listed business and trade relations as priorities for his mission in Brasilia. 207
