Isfahan (IP) - These days, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, Isfahan as Iran's cultural and historical tourism hub does not host the tourists from all over the country and the world.

.Iran Press/Iran news: Every year, with the onset of the spring and the Nowruz holiday, the historical bridges of Si-o-Se Pol (which literally means 33 bridges in Farsi) and Pol Khajoo (Khajoo bridge) in Isfahan, central of Iran, used to host a large number of Iranian and foreign tourists, but this year with the outbreak of Coronavirus disease, tourism in the historical city has been so much limited.

After the outbreak of Coronavirus in Iran that claims the lives of more than 1500 people, Iranian officials have so far resisted calls for mandatory quarantine of areas with high infections of COVID-19.

Instead, authorities have shut down schools and mosques and have asked residents to stay home. With the Nowruz (New Year) holiday most offices closed for two weeks, officials have asked Iranians to not travel during this time as they normally do.

Despite the fact that a portion of Iranian society ignored all requests and warnings to stay at home and self-isolate themselves, statistics show a dramatic decrease in Nowruz travels across the country. 212/ 104
