Tehran (IP) - The Turkish Embassy in Tehran announced the dispatch of health items to the Islamic Republic of Iran to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Turkish Embassy in Tehran referred in its twitter account to a contract of Turkey’s Health Ministry with the Iranian ambassador to Ankara to fight Covid-19 and announced that based on the contract a number of healthcare items including test kits, masks, glasses, and gowns have been sent to Iran.

The ambassador of Iran to China Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh also announced the delivery of more than 15 tons of health aid to the Iranian people donated by Chinese people.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif also in a phone call to his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov on Tuesday appreciated Uzbekistan’s nation and government for their humanitarian aids to Iran.

The new virus, that causes a respiratory disease known as COVID-19, emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei Province late last year.

 Iran's Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said that 5,389 people have recovered in total from the Coronavirus.

It has swept into at least 165 countries, infected more than 198,513 and killed at least 7,988 people worldwide.
