Coronavirus screening steps started at entrance of 13 provinces

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development has said Iranian people are screened at the entrances of 13 provinces, and if they have any symptoms of the Coronavirus, they will be transferred to medical centers.

Iran PressIran News: Talking about the latest steps being taken in fighting with Coronavirus, the minister of Road and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami said that road traffic is a major matter and some steps have been taken to prevent unnecessary movements.

He went on to say that screening operations are being done at the entrance of 13 provinces, adding: "If a person has a fever or other symptoms of the Coronavirus, he will be transferred to a medical center."

He also called on people to avoid unnecessary movements and noted: "Screening process has been underway at passenger terminals, airports, railway stations since the first day of the outbreak."

The new virus, that causes a respiratory disease known as COVID-19, emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei Province late last year. It has swept into at least 162 countries, infected more than 181,000 and killed at least 7,113 people worldwide, according to an estimate from Johns Hopkins University, which is tracking cases reported by the World Health Organization and additional sources.

In Iran, 4996 patients from all 14,991 infected patients, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 so far, have recovered and discharged from hospitals across the country.
