Tehran (IP) - Iran's Judiciary Spokesman said that European countries must prove their independence and take actions towards disregarding unilateral sanctions, especially in the medical sector.

Iran PressIran News: Responding to the question of Iran Press about the effects of the US sanctions on Iran's healthcare services, Gholam-Hossein Esmaili said that cruel and unilateral sanctions of the US against Iran have affected a bulk of Iranian people.

He added that Iranian people know it well that the US hegemony is not only hostile against Iran's sovereignty but also against Iranian citizens.

"We don't expect anything special from the US government, because they are acting as an enemy," said Esmaili, adding that European countries, who claim to have independence, are implementing the US sanctions against Iran.

"They must prove their independence and take actions towards disregarding unilateral sanctions, especially in the medical sector," he stressed. "We have filed cases against the US crimes and necessary follow-ups are being done internationally."

He went on to say that Iran's young generation has learned to turn threats into opportunities.

"Iranian scientists for sure can produce coronavirus vaccine and medicine in the future and this would increase the independence of the country," Esmaili said.

The US continues to exert pressure on the Iranian people amid the coronavirus outbreak and deprive Iran of ways of paying the cost of this medicine and limit the use of available financial resources.
