Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Health Minister has announced that the wave of entry of the covid-19-infected to hospitals has declined in provinces where national mobilization plan have been implemented.

Iran PressIran news: Saeed Namaki said on Thursday 12 March that the plan was implemented at first in 4 provinces and with good results, it was supposed to be implemented in the entire country.

"So in Gilan, Qom and other provinces, we have reached a point where we were no longer witnessing patients’ stormy rush to hospitals and our colleagues have reached a point of relative calm in the last two to three days," Namaki said.

He pointed out to his meeting with the governors and said the meeting outlined the dimensions of the Coronavirus National Mobilization Plan, and every day the Deputy Health Minister, as the Executive Director of the project, communicates the news and the progress of work in the provinces to inform the people.

He said that the national project began with the collaboration of Basij (voluntary forces) Organization, NGOs, Nursing, and Medical System and is aimed at having close relationship with the families for diagnosis of the disease among them.

He noted that the plan has highly been welcomed by the WHO experts and they said that it could be implemented as a successful role model in other countries. "Like us, they believed that if we could identify patients at an early stage, prevent them from circulating in the community, identify and isolate those who had been in contact with in the past days, and provide them with the necessary training, we will cut the Coronavirus transmission chain," the health minister added.

The project is being implemented with the management of governors and cooperation of university presidents as well as Basij commanders and NGOs in the provinces. The Coronavirus first detected in Wuhan, China, has so far spread to 115 countries, prompting the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare a state of emergency. 207/219
