The Secretary of Iran Judiciary Human Rights Staff,Ali Baqeri Kani

The Secretary of Iran's Judiciary Human Rights Staff stressed that those countries sanctioning medicines are not qualified for membership in the UN Human Rights Council.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Baqeri Kani who attended in the 43rd meeting of UN Human Rights Council said that actions of this type are not only a collective punishment of a nation but also a modern way of violating human rights.

Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis met with Ali Baqeri Kani, Deputy Chief of the Judiciary and Secretary-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Human Rights Headquarters, to discuss us sanctions on medicine.

During a meeting on the sideline of the Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva, Baqeri criticized the inhumane treatment of Americans with the detained Iranian calling for an end to US hostage-taking policy and stated that Iran is bound to pursue Iranians' problems everywhere in the world.

The secretary-general of human rights pointed to the inhumane policy of sanctioning medicine in some countries by showing images of innocent children with butterfly disease to Swiss FM.

At the meeting, the Swiss Foreign Minister, referring to the need to provide medical facilities to patients, said that access to medicine is a right of everyone and its prevention should not go unpunished even during wartime.

In 2018, US President Donald Trump withdrew unilaterally from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran and re-imposed sanctions on Tehran.

The US continues to exert pressure on the Iranian people and deprive Iran of ways of paying the cost of this medicine and limit the use of available financial resources.
