Speaking at a policy dialogue titled "Iran's Defence Strategy, Regional Stability, Alliances and Strategic Transformations," organized by the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) in Islamabad, the ambassador conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan.
He said that instability in Asia is largely a consequence of global conflicts and noted that more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, with thousands more injured or missing. He stressed that, as Muslims, it is their responsibility to stand for truth and justice, and appreciated Pakistan's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Addressing the event, President of the Institute of Regional Studies, Ambassador Johar Saleem, said Iran had demonstrated remarkable resilience by standing up to some of the world's most powerful countries and successfully defending its territory despite facing advanced military technology.
He added that although the conflict had created economic challenges globally, including rising fuel prices and inflation, responsibility for the crisis lay with the United States rather than Iran.
Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen TV Bureau Chief Abu-Bakr Matar condemned what he described as grave violations of international humanitarian law by Israel and the United States. He said that hospitals, media centres and schools had been targeted in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, resulting in the deaths of civilians, including children and journalists.
The event was attended by diplomats, international affairs experts, researchers and students. At the conclusion of the programme, Ambassador Johar Saleem presented certificates of appreciation to Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam and other distinguished guests.
