Tehran (IP) - The Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview with the Lebanese website Al-Ahed has emphasized that those who assassinated Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani will be castigated to the dustbin of history.

Iran Press/Iran News:  Commenting on the role played by the martyred Generals in strengthening the axis of Resistance, Zarif said: "The martyrs of Resistance have always inspired, both when they were alive and even after their martyrdom. They proved the best way to confront the arrogant powers is through self-sacrifice and martyrdom. Those who were involved in the assassination of the Generals of Resistance will be castigated to the dustbin of history." 

Zarif pointedly added: "Assassination of Lt. General Qassem Soleimani will increase the determination and the resolve of the axis of resistance. His loss will be felt keenly by all those who spport peace in the world."

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq at the official invitation of the Iraqi government, was assassinated in a US drone strike and air-raid in Baghdad on Friday 3 January  2020, along with his colleagues and companions.

Commenting on Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu's timing and objectives in unveiling the so-called peace plan -- The Deal of the Century -- Iranian foreign minister said both of them want to win elections and remain in office.

He said: "The Deal of the Century is an unrealistic plan and it doesn't have any connection with real politics. It is essentially a commercial deal, a business deal, which helps the Zionist occupiers to remain in power." 101/211
