The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) harshly slammed the Europeans' approach toward the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), warning that the present situation, won't be in anyone's interest.

Iran PressEurope: In a meeting with his French counterpart Francois Jacques in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Tuesday, Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran expects France to commence peaceful nuclear cooperation.

Iran's AEOI Chief went on to express his dissatisfaction with the French side over paying little respect to cooperate on nuclear fusion.

Jacques, for his part, called France as one of the supporters of JCPOA, describing the US' withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal as a shameful act.

He also expressed concern over Iran's recent steps in reducing its nuclear commitments toward JCPOA.

In May 2018, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the JCPOA.

Iran and the remaining parties launched talks to salvage JCPOA after the US withdrawal, but the three EU parties to the deal (France, Britain, and Germany) have failed to ensure Iran’s economic interests.

The EU’s inaction forced Tehran to stop honoring certain commitments to the nuclear deal, but Tehran says the steps that it has taken are reversible and will be fully committed to the JCPOA if the  Europeans fully uphold their end of the bargain.
