Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called for the international community to take part in the Israeli-Palestine peace process amid the forthcoming publication of US President Donald Trump’s ‘deal of the century.'

Iran Press/Europe: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called for the international community to take part in the Israeli-Palestine peace process amid the announcement of US President Donald Trump’s so-called ‘deal of the century’, speaking in Moscow on Tuesday.

The foreign minister emphasized the need to listen to the Palestinians’ position in the Middle East peace process. The Arab League’s response to the plan also needed to be taken into account, Lavrov said.

He added that Moscow “would really like for the quartet of international mediators, which are Russia, USA, UN, and the EU, to review the situation.” Trump announced his peace plan on Tuesday 28 January. Israeli regime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has traveled to Washington for the unveiling of the Trump's so-called deal.

Prior to Trump's announcement, Lavrov said that "in our contacts with the United States we were not informed of any details about it. They just said that this deal would solve all the problems at once. We know how the US administration is always striving to find a cardinal solution to many international problems. So far, this has not brought any positive shifts everywhere, but with respect to the 'deal of the century', we heard comments about how it looks, some leaks are taking place."

Israel is the United States’ biggest regional ally and has vigorously been supported by successive American administrations.
