Qeshm Island abounds with Investment opportunities

Tehran (IP) - Managing Director of Qeshm Free Trade Zone Organization, Hamid Reza Momeni delivered a speech during a conference on Qeshm investment opportunities.

Iran PressIran news: During the conference on Tuesday 14th January, Managing director of Qeshm Free Trade Zone Organization Hamid Reza Momeni said, "There are several aspects of investment opportunities in Qeshm Island."

There are 66 projects which have started in 2016, 25 of which are in the field of the oil refinery, 6 in the field of powerhouses, 12 projects in the field of petrochemical and etc. 150,000 hectares are designated for these projects and we are planning on Qeshm island as a comprehensive export port.

Momeni asserted that we had negotiations with China to achieve some agreement protocols between the Chinese province of Guangdong and Qeshm free zone.

He further noted that "We have started a refinery with the capacity of 35000 tones which is going to reach 70000 tons in the upcoming two years.

Momeni added that 1900 billion tomans is the amount of investment in the free zone.

He went on to say that "we predict to solve the water problem completely with our hybrid powerhouses, covering both the drinking water field and also industrial applications."

In this regard Deputy of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran Masoud Mirzaei also said, "More than 80 countries are cooperating with Iran in economic fields. The first country was Germany that started its cooperation in 1984."
