Tehran (IP) - An unveiling ceremony for a driving simulator system developed at Khajeh Nasir Toosi University was held in Tehran on Wednesday.

Iran Press/Iran News: The unveiling ceremony was held at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tehran's Khajeh Nasir Toosi University on Wednesday.

The Head of the Headquarters for Development of Knowledge-Based Aviation and Aeronautics Technology and Industry of Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology Manouchehr Manteqi attended the ceremony.

According to an Iran Press report, given the relatively high number of driving accidents in Iran, especially involving young drivers who have only obtained their driving license recently, it seems essential to change and upgrade driver training and education nationally. This is particularly important for young drivers and those who work in the public transportation sector.

In the traditional driving program, it is not possible to learn many driving skills because of the lack of a safe and low-risk driving environment. To address this shortcoming, it is necessary to use a combination of driving simulators - as one of the new ways in the world - alongside traditional practical driver training on the streets. These pieces of training include practical training in different traffic and environmental conditions in terms of time and place and practical training to deal with danger.
