President Rouhani, in a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister, called on Japan and other nations to help maintain the Iran Nuclear Deal.

Iran PressAsia: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, urged Japan and other nations to help maintain the Iran Nuclear Deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying: “I hope Japan and other countries in the world will work hard to help keep the nuclear agreement in place.”

During the meeting, Abe Shinzo voiced his country's willingness to do its utmost to ease tensions and stabilize the situation in the Middle East.

He also hoped that Tehran plays a constructive role for peace and stability in the region.

Following the official welcoming ceremony, Rouhani and Abe Shinzo met privately, and joint talks were held by high-level delegations.

Abe will also host a dinner in President Rouhani's honor and his accompanying delegation.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran attended the Summit of the heads of states of Muslim countries in Malaysia before traveling to Japan.
