The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Spokesman Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said that all of the ring leaders involved in the recent unrest have been arrested calling the Iranian nation's vigilance the key to foiling the enemies' plots.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Spokesman Brigadier General  Ramezan Sharif said on Saturday that IRGC forces have arrested the main ringleaders behind Iran's recent riots in the provinces of Alborz, Khuzestan as well as the cities of Shiraz and Tehran.

Referring to the recent riots and unrest in some of Iran's cities, the top IRGC figure added that the Americans, Zionists, Saudis and members of the terrorist outfit the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MKO) were all behind Iran's recent riots, Iran Press reported.

However, he added the Iranian people have scuttled the plots of the enemies through their alertness and vigilance.

The government raised gasoline prices last week in order to moderate the national consumption rate, which stands at 110 million liters, 40 million liters above the maximum domestic requirement.

The move prompted some peaceful protests, but riotous elements, abusing the situation, quickly entered the scene, destroying public property, setting ablaze banks and gas stations among other facilities, and opening fire on people and security forces. 101/211
