18th NAM Summit ended in Baku, Azerbaijan Republic

The 18th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement member states ended in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Iran Press/Asia: The two-day summit ended late Saturday with the adoption of a final document issuing a joint statement of the summit and another joint statement on Palestine.

According to Gholamhossein Dehghani, Iran's deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, the document emphasized the need for free shipping and the free movement of energy resources on international waterways, as well as the rights of the Palestinian people, and denounced the Zionist regime's actions, as well as the US unilateralism against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He added that the document also emphasized the need for a resolution by the non-aligned members at the UN General Assembly regarding the restrictions that the United States has imposed on diplomats of member states in New York, and supported the resolutions by the Islamic Republic of Iran with regard to fight against extremism and Violence.

The document also emphasized support for Iran's nuclear deal 2015.

During the summit, the leaders of different countries explained and outlined their positions on major regional and international issues.

Condemning the unilateralist policies of US domination and the atrocities of the Zionist regime and protecting the rights of the Palestinian people were the main topics at the meeting.
