Thousands of people in the German city of Cologne and also in Paris France demonstrated against Turkey's military incursion into northern Syria.

Iran Press/ Europe: Cologne city authorities said that around 10,000 people took part in marches against Turkey's military offensive in northern Syria on Saturday. Authorities said the demonstration was completely peaceful.

According to Iran Press, over a thousand people gathered at the Place de la Republique in Paris, France to denounce Turkey's actions in Syria. Some held banners saying: "The Turkish state is committing crimes against humanity in total impunity."

In Cologne, some demonstrators carried placards with slogans such as "No deals with the AKP regime"- a reference to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's political party.

On October 9, Turkish military forces and Ankara-backed militants invaded northeast Syria in a declared attempt to push the Kurdish People's Protection Units away from the border region between the two countries.
