The Strategic Command Operations of Venezuela have announced that US planes have once again illegally entered Venezuela's airspace.

Iran Press/America: "Today [on Saturday], once again US spy planes have entered the zone controlled by Venezuela, violating aviation security and international treaties. The United States continues to openly insult our country," the command tweeted.

This is not the first case of a violation of the airspace of Venezuela over the past few days by the US aircraft. Earlier in the week, the country's Defence Ministry said that those incidents could be regarded as a serious threat, Sputnik reported.

Venezuela has been mired in an ongoing political crisis since early January when Juan Guaido was elected the head of the opposition-led National Assembly that all other government branches have been refusing to recognize since 2016.

In mid-January, two days after the Venezuelan Supreme Court annulled his election, Guaido proclaimed himself interim president in defiance of legitimate President Maduro, who was sworn in for a second term on 10 January.

Guaido’s move was immediately recognized by the United States, while Maduro blasted Guaido as a US “puppet” and dismissed the entire situation as a coup attempt staged by Washington. 104
