Urmia (IP) - Unusual spring snowfall in northwestern Iran has made the landscape of Urmia particularly beautiful.

Iran press/Iran news: In the mountainous regions of Urmia, in West Azerbaijan province, in northwestern Iran up to four meters of snowfall, rare for this time of the year, have added to the natural beauty of this picturesque region of Iran.

Walls of snow up to 4 meters high can be found in the 'Buze Sina' and 'Dalanpar' mountain ranges, not far from Iran's borders with both Turkey and Iraq, Iran press reported.

Both foreign and Iranian tourists visiting the region have been quite impressed by the sheer volume of snow which can still be found in the 'Buze Sina' and 'Dalanpar' mountains.

Mountain glaciers can be found at high altitudes of the mountain ranges of Northwestern Iran even in late spring and summer. The 'Buze Sina' mountains are located approximately 54 kilometres southwest of the city of Urmia, the provincial capital of West Azerbaijan. 101/211
