Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps

Tehran (IP) - The Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps stressed that by empowering Basij, Iran could stand against the enemies of Iran and Islam.

Iran PressIran News: Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Monday at the conference on "Unity, Resistance, and Insight" for the commemoration of the anniversary of the conquest of Khorramshahr in Zahedan, the center of Sistan and Baluchestan province in southeastern Iran: "Muslim youth will not allow infidels and polytheists to overcome them."

Salami added: "By empowering the Basijis, we can stand against the infiltration and dirty hostile policies of the enemies and thwart the plans of the Zionist regime."

IRGC Commander also said: "The enemies of Islam could not see that the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the political geography of the world, is growing as a great power and still can not tolerate."

Saying that all the world powers stood by Saddam's regime during the eight years of the Iran-Iraq war and openly supported him, Salami said: ‌ Iran was able to emerge victorious from the imposed war with the help of the young Basiji Forces.
