The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavu?o?lu

Istanbul (IP) - Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavu?o?lu met with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Istanbul on Monday, saying Turkey opposes unilateral sanctions against Iran.

Iran Press/Asia: The Turkish Foreign Minister announced that flights between Turkey and Iran will begin on August 1. 

Regarding the Libyan crisis, he said, "We are continuing to discuss the stability of the Libyan ceasefire and its related issues with Russia. The two presidents of Turkey and Russia have agreed to take joint action to end the conflict and establish a ceasefire in Libya."

"Turkish President  Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also visit Iran after the Corona Crisis," Turkish FM said.

Talking about other issues related to bilateral relations, Çavu?o?lu added, "With Mr. Erdogan's visit to Iran, we will continue the path to form a commission for strategic relations."

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has traveled to Ankara for a working visit and talks with his counterpart on the latest developments in bilateral relations and the most important regional and international issues.

Zarif also wrote in his tweeter on Monday that "I had productive talks with my friend MevlutCavusoglu and other senior officials in Istanbul."

"In-depth exchange and fruitful decisions on bilateral cooperation, and also regional and global issues," he added.

"Close consultations imperative. Next stop: Moscow. Neighbors always our priority," he noted.
