Iranian Government Spokesman has described US president's recent tweet that "the Iranians never won a war, but never lost a negotiation," as a half-right statement.

Iran Press/Iran news: "The second half which says Iranian never lost a negotiation, is completely true," Ali Rabiei said on the sidelines of Iran's cabinet meeting in Tehran, on Wednesday.

Answering Iran Press's question about Donald Trump's tweet, the spokesman described Trump's claim that "Iranian never won a war" as completely wrong and invited US president to improve his knowledge of Iranian history.

In his tweet, the US president claimed, "Just remember, the Iranians never won a war, but never lost a negotiation!"

Shortly afterward, Foreign Minister Zarif reminded Trump of millennia of Iranian — and a few decades of American — history.

“For millennia, Iranians have outlasted every aggressor,” Zarif tweeted later on Tuesday. “But, the US has spent $7 trillion & rivers of blood in our region, in its biggest failure since Vietnam.” 101/211
